About Melo
Melo is behavioural intelligence for clinical teams. Staff record structured observations at the point of care, and Melo turns that record into evidence teams can use to understand what is changing and make better-informed decisions. The people building Melo work closely with the teams using it in practice.
What Melo does
Complex behaviour is recorded constantly in wards and residential services, often on paper, but much of that detail is hard to carry through to the people making decisions. Handwritten charts sit in folders. A pattern that was obvious on a Tuesday night shift is invisible by the time a review meeting happens six weeks later.
Melo digitises that record, so observations can be recorded where they happen and reviewed as a pattern rather than as isolated entries.
Select a step to read what happens.
Staff capture structured behavioural observations at the point of care using the validated instruments their service already uses. The same assessments are recorded digitally at the point of care, without a separate write-up at the end of the shift.
Melo turns those observations into dashboards and reports, making changes over time, recurring triggers and previous interventions easier to see. By the time the review meeting happens, the Tuesday night shift is part of the record rather than something someone has to remember.
Melo is clinical support software. It does not diagnose, recommend, alert or automate. It presents the observations and applies the scoring already built into each instrument. Clinical decisions remain with the team.
Safety, security and assurance
Melo is not currently a regulated medical device under UK medical device regulations. It digitises validated instruments, applies only the rule-based scoring already inherent in those paper tools, and presents results without interpretation or instruction. We keep that position under review as we develop AI features, which are currently in beta and labelled as such.

How we work
Built with users
Melo develops with input from the people who record, review and use behavioural observations in practice.
Evidence with integrity
We publish the evidence behind Melo, including its limitations. We are careful about what the data can support and clear about what it cannot.
Built for routine use
Melo is designed to become part of everyday practice, with behavioural data recorded consistently over time rather than collected for a short-lived project.
The team
Melo is built by a team spanning clinical practice, product, engineering, design, research, customer success and commercial work. Select anyone to read more.
