Melo showcased at global neuro-rehab conference in partnership with Elysium Healthcare

Isabelle Ellis from Elysium Healthcare presenting virtually to a global audience of neuropsychology practitioners at the 2025 NR-SIG Conference.

It was fantastic to be back at the NR-SIG Global Conference this year, following our previous presentation in Portugal back in 2024. This time, we were delighted to see our work with Professor Nick Alderman and the team at Elysium Healthcare take centre stage down under on the other side of the world.

Over the past 12 months, we’ve been working closely with Nick and his colleagues at Moorlands & Avalon (two neuro-rehab specialist centres) to digitise and implement two of his gold-standard clinical frameworks – the Overt Aggression Scale – Modified for Neurorehabilitation (OAS-MNR) and the St. Andrews Sexual Behaviour Assessment (SASBA) – within Melo. These tools are internationally recognised for assessing and understanding behaviours that challenge in acquired brain injury (ABI) rehabilitation, but until recently, they were paper-based, time-consuming, and prone to delays in analysis.

By embedding them into Melo’s digital platform, the Elysium team has seen remarkable results:

  • 84% reduction in time per OAS-MNR assessment

  • Over 8,000 assessments completed since launch

  • Real-time access to behavioural data for all staff

  • At least one day per week of psychology admin time saved

  • Faster interventions and improved patient care

The presentation at NR-SIG highlighted not just the outcomes, but also the scalable blueprint now in place to roll this approach out across other Elysium sites – and potentially the wider sector.

You can view the slides here and watch the full presentation below.

If you’d like to explore how the OAS-MNR, SASBA, or Melo could support your organisation, get in touch – we’d love to share more.
